Zelensky explained why he would like to invite Trump to Ukraine

Posted on 10/06/2024

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that he would like the visit of former US President Donald Trump to Ukraine, so that he could see the traces of the war with his own eyes and talk to him.

As European Truth reports, he said this in an interview with The Guardian.

Zelensky said that he would like to have a frank conversation with Trump and would like him to come and see the war with his own eyes.

“It seems that he would also need it in order to better understand the situation. He knows Putin, as far as I understand from some statements. I think that in order to know Putin, you need not only to communicate with him, but also to see the results of what he brought to Ukraine You will understand better who you are dealing with,” he explained.

“If I had the opportunity to talk with him later, how he sees everything, then I would understand and it would be a starting point for me regarding the strategy,” the president added.

It will be recalled that after Zelensky’s earlier appeals to Trump to come to Ukraine, his campaign headquarters said that Donald Trump considers it inappropriate to visit Ukraine now, since he is not in office.
