More than 100 additional permitted places for swimming will appear in Kazakhstan – Ministry of Emergency Situations

In 2023, a total of 612 permitted places of mass recreation, tourism and sports on water bodies were identified throughout the country. Additionally, it is planned to create 105 permitted places for swimming.

“Before the start of the swimming season, the akimats additionally plan to create another 105 permitted swimming places. As a result, in 2024 the number of official places for swimming will be more than 700. This is 14% more than last year,” said Aleksey Sovetov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Civil Defense and Military Units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the CCS briefing.

He noted that the rescue units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have taken control of the most actively used 85 sections of large reservoirs.

“With the start of the swimming season, to ensure the safety of citizens in unguarded areas of reservoirs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations plans to set up an additional 70 mobile seasonal rescue posts. In addition, together with akimats and owners of recreational areas near the water, more than 200 on-site rescue posts will be created at the expense of public rescuers. They are trained in our operational rescue teams,” the speaker noted.
